We want to work with as many students as possible and fees allow us to bring birding into more classrooms. However, we don’t want fees to be an undue burden on anyone. If you represent a designated Title I school or if fees would prevent you from working with us, please email us at education@tucsonaudubon.org and we’ll work with you to find a path forward.

Classroom Lessons

Size Limit: The maximum number of students per session is 60 with a maximum of 3 sessions per day. Whenever possible, however, we recommend smaller session sizes to allow for more personalized attention for each student. 

Pricing

• $100 for one session
• $50 for each additional session
  • The discount for multiple sessions is available for the same school in the same school year; i.e., classes and sessions need not be held on the same day  
• For participants who choose the nestbox building workshop for the activity as part of the Bienvenido a Casa classroom lesson, there is an additional $1/nestbox charge. For building nestboxes separately from this lesson, please see pricing details below.

Field Trips

K-5: 

• Size Limit
  • 48 students per trip maximum
  • 1 chaperone per 8 students is required
• Pricing
  • $100 per trip for up to 16 students (not including teachers or chaperones)
  • $150 per trip for 17-48 students (not including teachers or chaperones)

6-8: 

• Size Limit
  • 60 students per trip maximum
  • 1 chaperone per 10 students is required
• Pricing
  • $100 per trip for up to 20 students (not including teachers or chaperones)
  • $150 per trip for 21-60 students (not including teachers or chaperones)

9-12: 

• Size Limit
  • 60 students per trip maximum
  • 1 chaperone per 20 students is required
• Pricing
  • $100 per trip for up to 20 students (not including teachers or chaperones)
  • $150 per trip for 21-60 students (not including teachers or chaperones)

Tabling Events

We do not charge for attending your event with our tabling activities. However, we strongly prefer that you provide 1 table and 2 chairs per activity and shade (when applicable) whenever possible.

• Fees for this activity will depend on the space we will be using and the materials you prefer. We’ll create a budget together!

Build your own Lucy’s Warbler nestboxes!

• The fee for each box is $5 which covers the cost of materials.
