Community Science
There are many opportunities to get out into the field with Tucson Audubon! Go birding with these programs and contribute to important data sets that help us monitor bird populations of southeast Arizona.
We highly recommend the use of eBird. Even if you can’t bird with us, entering your bird checklists into eBird also adds valuable data points that can be used by researchers around the world!
Arizona Important Bird Areas Program
Tucson Bird Count
The Tucson Bird Count is a community science driven effort that has documented how native birds use the habitat within and surrounding Tucson for over a decade. Help make our communities more useful to native birds and start counting Tucson’s birds today!
Christmas Bird Counts
Find bird counts all over Arizona from December 14 to January 5! Pick one or more and contribute to this community science project that began in 1900. These records now comprise an extensive ornithological database that enables monitoring of winter bird populations.
