Spring is (almost) here! Help us promote our Habitat at Home program by volunteering at our spring native plant sale.
We have several volunteer needs:
- On site Lucy’s Warbler nestbox construction (1 volunteer). Volunteers will help construct Lucy’s Warbler nestboxes for guests on site. Volunteers should feel comfortable using wood glue and a nail gun safely (the pieces will be pre-cut; just in need of assembly).
- On site bee box construction (1 volunteer). Volunteers will help create bee boxes for guests on site by using a drill press. Volunteers should feel comfortable operating a drill press safely.
- Plant loading (2 volunteers). Volunteers will help guests who purchase plants to load them into their vehicles. Volunteers must be comfortable lifting ~20 pounds, be able to push a wheelbarrow or pull a wagon over flat terrain, and be on their feet for a few hours. Some knowledge of native plants is preferred but not required.
- Tabling (4 volunteers). Volunteers will help answer guest questions about our Habitat at Home program, Bird-safe Buildings program, and Tucson Audubon in general. Additionally, some volunteers will help run an interactive children’s activity table.
