Accessible Hawk Watch ‘Sit’ in Tubac with SAAWR
Trip Duration: 1.5 hrs. Ground Condition: hard-packed dirt and open grassy field. Restrooms and shaded ramada with picnic tables available.
Join Kimberly Aikins of the Southern Arizona Accessible Wildlife Refuge (SAAWR) for an outing designed for nature lovers with accessibility challenges; wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive devices are welcome. On this trip, we will gather and sit at the Ron Morriss County Park in Tubac to appreciate the annual raptor migration as they migrate along the neighboring Santa Cruz River, as well as other birds that may visit the park. Some of the raptors we may encounter include Black Vultures, Turkey Vultures, Common Black Hawks, Zone-tailed Hawks, and Red-tailed Hawks, along with many others! Everyone is encouraged to bring a chair.
Each registered participant is welcome to bring a support person. For more information, email fieldtrips@tucsonaudubon.org. Limited to 15 participants.
This program is offered in partnership with the Southern Arizona Accessible Wildlife Refuge. Visit their website for more information.
