Avra Valley: Hawks for Beginners

Registration for this trip is free. Register here beginning on Nov 12, 7 AM.

Birders of all levels are welcome to come search Avra Valley for Red-Tailed Hawks, American Kestrels, Vultures, Harriers, Prairie Falcons and Caracaras! Those who are mobility challenged are especially invited, as we bird from the side of road with the option to bird from your vehicle. Leader will provide a scope and helpful raptor ID charts. We will leave from Mission Library (NW corner of Ajo Way and Mission Road.) Back by noon. Round trip of 55 miles on paved and graded dirt roads. Be ready for cold and wet. Restroom at NPS visitor center at 10:30am. Carpooling is encouraged but participants may choose to drive on their own.

Mask is requested for unvaccinated participants. Limited to 20 participants.
