Cortaro Mesquite Bosque, Santa Cruz River Walk
January 16- Monday, 8:00 am – Cortaro Mesquite Bosque, Santa Cruz River Walk
Trip difficulty: Easy. No elevation gain. 2 miles on hard-packed surface. Water, but no restrooms at trailhead. Limited shade and sitting opportunities. All ability levels. May not be appropriate for wheelchair access.
We’ll start at a neighborhood pocket park and walk an out and back route along the Santa Cruz River (upstream from El Rio and downstream from Twin Peaks on the West bank). Group size is limited to 8 participants due to a smaller trail footprint, but look for this same walk on other Mondays in January.
Driving directions: From Interstate 10 head west on Twin Peaks Rd. turn right on Coachline, in 1 mile, turn right on Oak Stream then left on Mill Crossing, then right on Buffalo Crossing, then left on Blue Crossing. The park is on the right side of Blue Crossing at 10152 Blue Crossing Way.
Leader: Gerry Hodge
Registration for this trip is free. Register here beginning Saturday, December 10, 7:00 AM.
