De Anza Trail at Santa Gertrudis Lane

Registration fee: $35/member, $50/non-member.* Register here beginning Oct 8, 7:00 AM.

Trip difficulty: Moderate. Trails are mostly packed dirt and fairly level, but they do have some slight incline at times and may be muddy depending on recent weather. We’ll be covering 2-4 miles round trip at a slow birding pace.

We’ll start along the frontage road parking area at Santa Gertrudis Lane and then walk down to the De Anza Trailhead and decide whether we’ll walk north or south based on recent bird sightings. This trail follows the Santa Cruz River and often provides great winter birding. We’ll be out on the trail for about 3 hours or so. Limited to 8 participants.

Leader: Luke Safford, (lsafford@tucsonaudubon.org)
