Chuck Ford Lakeside Park with Donito Burgess

July 14th- Sunday 6:00 am

Lakeside Park

Trip Difficulty: ~1.5 miles mostly on paved and concrete surfaces. Includes one steep slope. Restrooms are available.

When you combine a large lake, tall trees, ball fields and native flora you are in for a great day of birding. Come join fellow birders as we explore this eastside hotspot known for a variety of birds year-round, plus the chance of an infrequent visit from migrating shorebirds, gulls and terns. This park sports a list of nearly 230 species, so you just might find your next favorite bird.

The pace will be relaxed with seating available for breaks or during mini bird sit moments. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been birding for years, there is always something new to experience.

Open to all levels. Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your binoculars, hat, water and snacks as needed.

Wrap up between 8:30 – 9:00 am.  Limit 10 participants.

Leader: Donito Burgess (dburgess@tucsonaudubon.org)

Registration for this trip is free.
