Welcome to Sunday in the Parks! The last Sunday of the month we venture to one of Tucson’s many urban parks to hone our birding skills in a fun and joyful manner.
This month we visit Purple Heart Park. When you combine native flora with grass fields you are in for a great day of birding. Come join fellow birders as we explore this underbirded east Tucson hotspot known for a wide variety of birds year-round. This park sports a list of nearly 100 species, so you just might find your next favorite bird. The pace will be relaxed with seating available for breaks or during mini bird sit moments. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been birding for years, there is always something new to experience.
Open to all levels. Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your binoculars, water and snacks as needed. Meet in the east parking lot which is accessed from Rita Road. Limit 12 participants.
Happy Birding,
Andrea Serrano
