Redington Pass on Upper Mt. Lemmon with Tim Helentjaris

Date and Time: Thursday Nov 30th, meet-up at 7AM

Trip difficulty: Easy, driving with short jaunts from the vehicles

Walking Distance: less than 2 miles

Trip Duration: Return by noonish

Elevation Gain: minimal

Ground Condition: walking on old roads or established trails. Restrooms limited.

We’ll plan to look for residents for these intermediate foothill habitats, including Woodhouse Scrub-Jay, Juniper Titmouse, and Gray Flycatcher, and perhaps early winter visitors such as Townsend’s Solitaire’s, bluebirds, and Evening Grosbeaks.  We’ll drive this road to where it starts downhill towards the San Pedro, stopping along the way at several spots to get out and look/listen.

Wear good walking shoes, hat, binoculars, water and snacks along with clothing appropriate for this altitude and season. Limited to 11 participants – car-pooling required. Instructions for meet-up will be emailed to registered participants before the trip.

Leader: Tim Helentjaris (tnhelentjaris@msn.com)
