Willcox Ponds: Fall Migration for Beginners

Registration for this trip is free.

Come see the shorebirds, ducks, gulls, swallows and hawks headed south. Those new to birding or who are mobility challenged are especially invited, since we bird from our cars with scopes and bird charts as we drive the dirt road around the ponds. Be ready for sun, heat and wind. Bring water, snack lunch and carpool money. Leave from the back of the Walmart parking lot (NE corner) at Houghton and Old Vail Road by 8 a.m., back before 2 p.m. Seventy miles one way. Restrooms at Texas Canyon rest stop on the way and the Historic Train Depot in Willcox after birding. Mask is required for unvaccinated participants. Limited to 20 participants.
