Sabino Saunter with Cathy Yungbluth and Linda Matson
Trip Difficulty: Easy. 3 mile loop on both road and uneven terrain. Elevation gain of ~25 feet.
Let’s explore the beautiful Sabino Canyon Recreation Area with a focus on finding our resident desert birds and hopefully seeing some seasonal visitors. Although the focus will be on birding, the field trip leader is also a Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalist who approaches all plant and animal encounters with enthusiasm. The walking loop will include both Sonoran Desert Upland and Sabino Creek riparian area. We should be finished by 11:00 at the latest. Meet by the Visitor’s Center at 5700 N Sabino Canyon Rd. Requires National Recreation area parking fee of $8 per car or Interagency Recreational Pass. Highly recommend a sunhat, water, snack, and sensible walking shoes. Beginning birders welcome. Limited to 10 participants.
Registration for this field trip is free.
**Tucson Audubon member registration opens Feb 3rd at 7am. Public registration opens Feb 10th at 7am.**
