Saguaro National Park East (Rincon Mountains) with John Higgins
Trip difficulty: This trip will be easy paced as we will look for birds while standing at the parking pullouts, except for an easy one-third mile walk on a flat paved trail.
Celebrate summer by looking for twenty kinds of birds who thrive in the Sonoran Desert heat, including Purple Martins, flycatchers and other birds. We will drive the Cactus Forest Loop, stopping at several pull-outs and walking the Desert Ecology Trail.
Bring lots of water and breakfast snacks. Temperature should be in 70s to 80s. Visitor Center does not open until 9 am, but visitor center restrooms open all the time. Entrance to the park requires a day fee or an interagency pass. See website for more details.
