Saguaro Planting at Santa Cruz River Park

Objective: With your help, we are undertaking a massive, 3-year effort to replant 14,000 saguaros. Our team is microtargeting the precise optimal locations for the new plants. We will ensure that the seedlings are protected from the harsh sun and hungry animals until they are big and strong enough to defend themselves. Join us in the effort by helping plant some saguaros at Santa Cruz River Park!

Position Description: Volunteers will help plant young saguaros around Santa Cruz River Park. Tools and instructions for planting will be provided on site, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gardening gloves.

Requirements: Volunteers should feel comfortable walking off trail, bending down, digging shallow holes with trowels, and being outside for ~2 hours.
