Welcome to Sunday in the Parks! The last Sunday of the month we venture to one of Tucson’s many urban parks to hone our birding skills in a fun and joyful manner. This month we visit John F. Kennedy Park.
When you combined desert vegetation, open water and large trees you are in for a birding adventure. Come join fellow birders as we explore this west side hotspot known for its waterfowl, park birds, desert favorites plus the chance of a rare migrant. This park sports a list of over 200 species, so you just might find your next favorite bird.
The pace will be relaxed with extended time in each habitat. Benches are available for breaks or during mini bird sit moments. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been birding for years, there is always something new to experience.
Open to all levels. Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your binoculars, water and snacks as needed. Meet in the east parking lot by the swimming pools which is accessed from Mission Rd. Limit 12 participants.
