Tanque Verde Wash at Wentworth

Trip difficulty: Moderate. 2-mile hiking round trip on soft sand surface. No restrooms or drinking water available.

We will start at 07:30 am. We will head downstream out along the north side of the wash, first checking the brush for various towhees and sparrows, then continuing to the large cottonwoods for woodpeckers, warblers and goldfinches (Lawrence’s goldfinches have been sighted in the area). Wrap up around 09:30 am. Sunhat, water and good walking shoes are recommended.
Limited to 12 participants.

Driving directions: Tanque Verde Road east of 49ers to Wentworth. Right turn on Wentworth to Tanque Verde Wash. Park on the north side of the wash. If possible, please consider carpooling, as parking is limited.
