Birding the Calendar–Where to Go Birding in Winter with Luke Safford

One of the most common questions we get asked is “When is the best time to go birding in Southeast Arizona?” Well, it’s hard to pinpoint a best month, because there is something unique during every season! This season offers a fantastic time to find wintering birds like Mountain Plovers, longspurs, and Ferruginous Hawks, and many duck and waterfowl species.
