Paton Center for Hummingbirds with Laura Couchman
Trip difficulty: Easy. Plenty of time spent watching feeders around the Paton Center, plus short walks (less than a mile) on adjoining trails of packed dirt or gravel roads.
The famous Paton Center for Hummingbirds, an 80 minute drive from downtown Tucson, is a terrific place to see the special birds of southeast Arizona. At this time of year, we’ll look for several species of hummingbirds (including Violet-crowned), kingbirds, flycatchers, Gray Hawk, and maybe a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. After birding, I’ll be stopping for coffee/food at Gathering Grounds in Patagonia before heading home, and you’re welcome to join me.
Leader: Laura Couchman
Registration for this walk is free.
