eBird 102: Find the Birds You Want to See with Holly Kleindienst

Registration for this virtual event is free.

Have you heard of eBird? Do you think it’s just for advanced or experienced birders? Come learn how this user-friendly database from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology can help you keep track of the birds you’ve seen, help you find the birds you want to see, and how logging birds into eBird counts towards bird research and bird conservation
whether you are a new birder or a lifelong lister. Through this two-part workshop you’ll learn what eBird can do for you, and why, if you are out looking at birds, you should be using eBird.

eBird 102: Find the Birds You Want to See:

  • How to find out what birds are being seen near you or where you are going.
  • How to locate a particular species.
  • How to view photos of a particular species to assist in identification of birds you’ve seen.
  • How to get daily or hourly alerts for rare birds or birds you “need” to see.
  • Check out games within eBird to help you learn the birds near you or where you are going.
