Ramsey Canyon with Luke Safford

Friday, June 28: Ramsey Canyon, 5:30am – 2:00pm

$35/member, $50/non-member

Trip Difficulty: Moderate. Trails at Ramsey Canyon Preserve are mostly well packed dirt, some possible rocky areas. About 1.25 miles walking with some elevation gain.

One of the most beautiful areas in all of Southeast Arizona, Ramsey Canyon is full of giant Sycamores and amazing biodiversity. Hummingbird feeders at the Nature Conservancy could attract Rivoli’s, Black-chinned, Broad-billed, and possibly Violet-crowned or Blue-throated. We’ll walk the preserve trails and look for birds of the Madrean evergreen forest including Elegant Trogon, Greater Pewee, Dusky-capped Flycatcher, and Painted Redstart. Limited to 10 participants.
