Tucson Audubon's Winter Appeal

Dear Friends,

A lot has changed for birds—in Tucson and around the globe—in the 75 years since Tucson Audubon became a fledgling organization.

Through a bird’s eye, our landscape, the connectivity and quality of habitat, the flow of our rivers, and even the night sky have shifted dramatically in that time. A bird migrating through Tucson, or a resident looking to build a nest, had plentiful options in 1949. Generations later, our landscape is studded with challenges to a bird’s survival, from increased road infrastructure, to reflective glass buildings, artificial light at night, biodiversity and habitat loss, and a rapidly changing climate.

Similarly, the landscape we operate in has changed drastically, but because of you, Tucson Audubon remains a constant support for the birds we love and seek to protect.

As an organization, we have navigated countless waves of change, in political leadership and funding cycles, introduction of invasive species and other ecological threats, changes in how we observe birds and collect data, and in the way we understand and restore the living world.

Please donate today to support our great work and staff!

We collaborate to weave habitat throughout our built environments, in backyards, and public spaces, which will soon include the grounds surrounding Tucson’s City Hall. While we respond to a new climate reality, we help birds adapt through the use of nestboxes, and support new generations of saguaro cactus. We engage new generations of bird lovers and advocates through events like the Southeast Arizona Birding Festival. And, with more at stake than ever before, we hold policy makers accountable for decisions affecting birds, wildlife, and people.

Help us celebrate 75 years by supporting the urgent work we are doing for birds and their habitats. Our countless accomplishments and victories for birds, the many thousands of people we have engaged, the places we have protected and restored, were possible because people cared about the future of birds as much as we do.

YOU, our supporters and ambassadors, volunteers and members, are the constant that allows us to remain resilient in the face of change and challenge. Birds need us now like never before, and we know we can count on you to help us rise to the occasion, and to champion another 75 years of bird conservation, education, and celebration.

In Gratitude and Solidarity, for the Birds!
