Catalina Regional Park with Gerry Hodge

Catalina Regional Park

Trip difficulty: Moderate. 1.5 miles on dirt paths and loose wash sand. Trip duration no more than 2.5
hours. No water, no bathroom, limited shade, and one bench.

This trip is in the wash 4 miles north of Catalina State Park. It contains several different habitats and is
known for some rarities.

Special note: This horse trail park is adjacent to the Pima Pistol Club and you may hear nearby gunfire.
None of it is of danger, just annoying.

Driving directions: Take Hwy 77 (Oracle Rd) 3.4 miles north from Tangerine Rd. Turn right at the traffic
light on Wilds Rd. Go 1.1 miles and take a right on N. Lago del Oro Pkwy. Go right for .4 miles to Rollins
Rd and park in the dirt lot in the NW corner of this intersection. Beware of following your GPS in the last
two miles as it may lead you to more difficult dirt roads. Stay on the pavement and follow the above
directions after leaving Hwy 77.
