Part-time, Temporary

Objective:

Support Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge (BANWR) in fulfilling its mission by assisting with engagement efforts at the Visitor Center and during community events. Your contribution will help maintain essential services and connect the public with the refuge’s conservation efforts.

Position Description:

Volunteer responsibilities include:

  • Greet visitors and provide information about the Refuge’s mission, history, and activities.
  • Answer questions about the Refuge’s programs and wildlife conservation initiatives.
  • Assist with setting up and staffing informational tables at community events.
  • Promote public awareness and appreciation of the BANWR’s role in conserving wildlife and habitats.
  • Collaborate with other volunteers and experienced staff to ensure a welcoming experience for all visitors.

Requirements:

Enthusiasm for wildlife conservation and connecting with the public; Friendly, approachable demeanor and ability to communicate effectively; Willingness to learn and share information about Buenos Aires NWR (training provided); Ability to travel to the Visitor’s Center or event locations (carpooling or bringing a friend encouraged for the scenic drive).

The visitor center is open Saturday – Tuesday, 8am – 4pm.
